Locals Tickets
If you’re a Whitianga local, you can head into The Whitianga isite Information Centre (66 Albert Street) to purchase hard copy tickets. Local GA tickets are available for $65 per person up until the day of the festival.
Youth and child and VIP pricing remains the same. Proof of local residency is required.

All ages are welcome, however the Whitianga Oceans Festival is designed primarily as an adult-focused event (18+). Parents choosing to bring children must take full responsibility for their supervision and safety at all times.

There is no cash out facilities on site, most stallholders do have eftpos, but to be on the safe side, please bring some cash.

Getting to and from Oceans is easy! Free festival transport is available for all Whitianga Oceans Festival ticket holders, with a shuttle looping around Whitianga before and after the event.
Shuttle times:
9am–12pm and 4pm–7pmThe shuttle will complete a loop approximately every 30 minutes, stopping at:
Robinson Road Boat Ramp
South Highway – Sovereign Pier
Kupe Drive – corner of Vanita Drive
Joan Gaskell Drive – near Mobil
Oscar Place – Motorhome Park
Brophy’s Beach bus stop – bottom of Centennial Drive
Buffalo Beach Road – car parks near Halligan Road
Whitianga isite Visitor Information Centre
The shuttle will then loop around again and may also pick up festival-goers who wave it down along the route, subject to seats being available.

Unfortunately, we do not allow animals into the festival unless of course they are guide dogs.

Prohibited Items include but are not limited to:
Air horns.
Alcohol – any alcohol found at the Event Site will be confiscated and will not be returned and the offending patron(s) ejected from Event Site for the remainder of the Event.
Animals (excluding service dogs such as guide dogs and police or emergency service dogs).
Any other item deemed by Event staff (in their discretion) to be dangerous or offensive or potentially dangerous by Event organisers.
Audio or video recording devices (including GoPro and similar).
Chilly bins and coolers.
Couches
Drones or other remote control devices.
Fires and open flames. Flammable liquids. Flares, fireworks, sparklers explosives, or any fire twirling equipment.
Glass (jars, bottles, containers, mirrors and perfumes).
Illegal substances.
Instruments.
Laser equipment and pens.
Monopods, tripods
Nitrous oxide bulbs and canisters.
Professional photography equipment (e.g. telephoto lenses; any lens over 20cm; any detachable lens; stands or other commercial equipment or anything deemed by Event staff to be professional photography equipment).
Sharpies, markers, paint cans or paint pens.
Skateboards, scooters, wagons, carts, rollerblades, roller skates, bicycles, quad-bikes, segway’s, hoverboards,
Sound systems.
Studded items (i.e. belts, wristbands etc.).
Toy guns, water guns or slingshots.
Unauthorised marketing materials including handbills, flyers, stickers, beach balls, giveaways, samples, or other promotional items.
Weapons or explosives of any kind (including potential missiles).
No food or drink will be permitted into the Event Site. Sealed plastic water bottles (with or without contents) cannot be brought into the Event Site. Unsealed EMPTY plastic water bottles (no glass) can be brought into the Event Site.

We will do our best to ensure that the Whitianga Oceans Festival is held.
We will only cancel the event if we have big things happen that we can not control, including storms or road closures during the week of the event. We have ticket protection to cover most of these big things, but can not insure against covid.
In the rare case that we have to cancel the event, then we will refund you as much of your ticket price as we can, generally this will be 50-90% of your ticket fee (depending on any potential cancellation date).
When you purchase a ticket, you have the option to purchase ticket protection that will cover you in case of personal illness, injury etc. There are no refunds given for ‘Change of Mind’.
You can choose to transfer you ticket to another person up to 31st of August for a fee of $10per ticket.

There are no pass outs given. Once you leave the festival, you will not be allowed back in.

The line-up and scheduled times are subject to change without notice. Tickets are sold to the festival as a whole, not for specific acts. Should a headline act or any other act cancel, fail to perform, or be replaced, the festival will still proceed. No refunds will be issued in such circumstances.
